TOUR WITH SEMINARS
For St. John's College Alumni and Friends
TENTATIVE DATES FOR 2009 - May 20 to May 29, 2009
Two St. John's tutors will join 20 participants and a Turkish archaeologist for an unforgettable week visiting the classical sites of Aegean Coast Turkey.
From David Townsend:
“This is an opportunity to see some of the best-preserved antiquities of the ancient Greek world while enjoying the pleasures of travel with a small peripatetic group of the extended St. John's community—not to be missed.“
Roberta Austin A'91 has organized this tour for St. John's alumni and friends:
"I have been working in Turkey for over a decade and have organized many special interest tours throughout the country. I look forward to this trip as a fun and engaging way to strengthen our old bonds with the college. Among the sites we will visit are Troy, Pergamum, Miletus, Priene, Didyma and Bodrum (Halicarnassus). In addition to the familiar intellectual engagement of the seminars, the group will enjoy fabulous food and climate, the warm hospitality of the Turks and the comfort of lovely small hotels."
